WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Philosophy
The Department of Education operates within the framework of the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy which promotes “…. a harmonious development of the physical, mental and spiritual powers” (E.G. White 1952:13). The goal of this type of education is to prepare students “…. for the joy of service in this world and the world to come.”
The Department educates and trains teachers and counselors who will go out into the world to provide Christian service. Our students are adequately prepared to integrate theory and practice.

Vision
The Department of Education envisions itself preparing leading world-class teachers who will help to eradicate ignorance and poverty of the people they will serve.

Mission
The Department of Education recognizes that education is a lifelong process, and that ultimately we are all engaged in the process of learning, and that adult students bring with them valuable life experience, skills and knowledge.
