The Open Distance eLearning (ODeL) Centre at Lakeview College is hosting a five-day faculty training seminar, scheduled to run from 23rd September to 1st October 2025. This seminar is part of the department’s broader capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening instructional delivery within ODeL programmes.
The training is specifically designed for university faculty and seeks to equip participants with essential competencies for effective online teaching and student engagement. Key focus areas include:
- Assessment design in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- General integration and ethical use of AI in teaching and learning
- Utilization of digital tools to enhance virtual classroom engagement
- Effective use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course delivery and student support
Facilitation will be led by Mr. Titani Mtonda, Director of ODeL, and Mr. James William, Instructional Designer, both of whom bring extensive experience in digital pedagogy and instructional innovation.
Faculty members are encouraged to actively participate in this strategic initiative as the institution continues to strengthen its commitment to flexible, inclusive, and technology-enhanced learning.
